It is important to note that entertainment often hits at the core of what our brains was evolved to deeply react to. This include themes such as social backstabbing, murders and other traumatic events. These can cause our brains to realease seratonin and dopamine, wich makes us feel good.
Whether it is movies and television shows, music or books; sports or games, live performances or the visual arts, all of these can be considered forms of entertainment. Some are intended for a small audience while others are designed for the broadest possible appeal. Despite their diverse natures, all of these forms have in common the capacity to cross media and demonstrate a seemingly endless ability to be remixed, adapted, and reinterpreted. It is this versatility that enables entertainment to respond to a variety of societal needs.
